The Marquette Michigan lighthouse
helped guide the iron ore ships in and out of Whitefish Bay.
The ships took on full loads of
taconite ore pellets at Marquette, on their way to the steel mills of Indiana lower Michigan,Ohio and Ontario.

The lighthouse at the shore of Manistique, Michigan warns ships sailing in and out of Lake Michigan.
This is Silver Mountain in the Sturgeon River Gorge and Wilderness Area, South of Baraga. It is also home to a closed off silver mine.
To the (right) is Red Berry trail, one of many crisscrossing trails in Fayette, an historic smelting village.
The U.P. has many waterfalls. One that is quite impressive is Bond Falls north of
Watersmeet. Trails and stairs make it easy to walk along the river and falls. To the (right) is the small but unique Scott Falls off M28 at Autrain.
